Welcome to the New Huskers.com

By NU Athletic Communications

Today we relaunched the look and feel of Huskers.com, with the goal of making the site a better experience for everyone. We believe that in conjunction with our partners at NeuLion we have created a site that keeps Nebraska at the forefront of digital content in college athletics.

“Nebraska has always been a leader in college athletics and we have continued that vision with our relaunch of Huskers.com,” Director of Athletics Shawn Eichorst said. “With over 13 million visits last year we know that Huskers.com is vital to our fans, student-athletes and coaches in the digital landscape, and we will continue to look at ways to improve everyone’s experience.”

Whether you are a fan, coach, former, current or future Husker, our goal is to make Huskers.com the place to find all of the information you want. We want Huskers.com to be an asset for our coaches in recruiting, and be a place where fans can get all the information to keep them informed and connected with the Huskers. Immediately when you visit the new Huskers.com you can see these changes, with large, high quality photos and a new video experience on our homepage.

“NeuLion’s partnership with the University of Nebraska Athletic Department dates back to the inception of this company 15 years ago, “said Senior Vice President, Tim Vargas. “Together we have created a strong and successful digital presence for Husker Athletics and this new design of Huskers.com is another leap forward showcasing a focus on high value and engaging content, smart design and innovative execution.”

The way you consume information is changing every day and we realize that. During the 2016-17 academic year over 61% of the traffic to Huskers.com was through a mobile device or tablet. While our last design was already responsive, we have continued to look at new ways to provide a seamless transition from a desktop to handheld device.  We want to make sure your experience is the same whether you are sitting at your desk or hanging out with 90,000 of your friends at Memorial Stadium.

We also have worked to improve the ticket buying experience by reducing clicks and adding a ticket widget to every page with a list of upcoming events. With one click you will get directly where you need to be to buy tickets for that event. Fans will also notice that our main navigation menu has a new “Fan Zone” area. This is just one of the steps we have taken to make it easier for fans to find game day information for all our sports, as well as information about things like concessions, promotions and tours. Fans will also notice that the we have made the top navigation bar “sticky”, as you scroll down the page the menu bar will stay at the top of the page so you do not have to scroll all the way back up to access the main menu.

There is no place like Nebraska, and with this redesign we have made it easier for future Huskers to find that out for themselves. When it comes to academics, facilities and fan support, just to name a few, Nebraska is unmatched across the country. On each program’s sport page the coaching staff now has the ability to put key information about their program front and center to assist in promoting their program to the world.

We continue to look for new stories to share with Husker fans. Last year, Brian Rosenthal joined our staff to further that endeavor and moving forward we plan to provide more content than ever before on our coaches and student-athletes that you can’t get anywhere else. The newly designed Huskers.com will bring these 'N-Depth' stories to our homepage so we can continue to share the amazing accomplishments of our coaches and student-athletes.

No matter how you connect with Nebraska Athletics, Huskers.com will continue to be our central home for the Huskers. We hope you enjoy the new look of Huskers.com - Go Big Red
