Huskers Tee Off Season at Badger Invitational
Madison, Wis. – The Nebraska men’s golf team will head to Madison, Wis., this weekend to compete in its season opener at the Badger Invitational.
University Ridge Golf Course, a par-72, 7,259-yard layout, will host the 54-hole invitational. Live scoring will be available on BirdieFire.com.
Junior Jace Guthmiller, who started every tournament last year, will start in the No. 1 spot. Guthmiller had the best stroke average (73.66) of the returning golfers from last season with a pair of top-20 finishes.
Cameron Jones had a 75.93 stroke average last season and will start off his sophomore campaign in the No. 2 spot in the lineup.
Freshman Daniel Pearson kicks off his career as a Husker in the No. 3 spot for Nebraska. The Colorado native looks to make an immediate impact in his debut as a Husker.
Jackson Wendling competed in six tournaments last year and has secured the No. 4 spot. The junior had a stroke average of 76.76 last season.
Freshman Patrick Clare is another new face making his Husker debut in the No. 5 spot. Before coming to Nebraska, Clare captured the Nebraska Class A individual state title.
