Huskers in 6th through two rounds at Pinehurst

Pinehurst, N.C. -- Kate Smith and Audrey Judd both posted 69-score rounds through two rounds of play at the Pinehurst Challenge on No. 1 GC, helping the Nebraska women's golf team to sixth place (290-287-577) out of 19 competing teams.

The Huskers are led by sophomore Kate Smith from Detoit Lakes, Minn., shooting three-under-par and tied in ninth place (69-72-141). Reigning Big Ten Golfer-of-the-Week Audrey Judd sits tied in 27th (76-69-145) alongside sophomore teammate Annie Sritragul (72-73-145). Judd climbed 40 positions in her round-one-to-round-two improvement. Sophomore Haley Thiele is tied in 44th (73-74-147) while younger sister, freshman Hannah Thiele, sits tied in 65th place (78-73-151). 

As a team, the Big Red sits just one-over-par heading into the final round, chasing North Florida (even). 

Competing outside NU's lineup as an individual, freshman Noor Ahmed from Folsom, Calif. shot a career-high first-round score of 72 on the day, and a career-high second-round score of 72 (72-72-144) and is tied in 20th place heading into tomorrow's final round.
