Nebraska at Northern Iowa
Date: Friday, Oct. 13
Location: Henry Pool, Cedar Falls, Iowa
Time: 4 p.m.

The Nebraska swimming and diving team will be in action Friday, Oct. 13, as the Huskers travel to Cedar Falls to take on Northern Iowa. The meet begins at the Henry Pool on Northern Iowa’s campus at 4 p.m.

Friday’s meet will be the first regular-season competition for the Huskers after swimming at home in the preseason intrasquad meet last week.

It also marks Northern Iowa's first home competition. The Panthers held their intrasquad dual on Sept. 29. The Panthers are led by Coach Nick Lakin, who was recently hired after serving as head coach and program director for the Black Hawk Area Swim Team since 2003.

Nebraska holds an 8-0 all-time series lead over Northern Iowa. The last dual meet between the two programs came a little less than a year ago, when Nebraska defeated Northern Iowa 191-105 in Lincoln.

Husker junior captain Kaylyn Flatt dominated the 2015-16 dual by claiming two victories in the 200-yard and 1,000-yard freestyles. Flatt also pitched in a second-place finish in the 100-yard free. Jordan Ehly racked up a first place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke against the Panthers, while Bridget Pacilio brought in a victory in the 400 IM. Allie Worrall, Dana Posthuma and Tori Beeler all added victories for the Huskers in the 100 free, 200 fly and 200 breaststroke, respectively.

Following Friday’s meet, the Huskers will return home to face Iowa State on Oct. 21. Nebraska will then hit the road for back-to-back duals against Arkansas (Nov. 3, 4 p.m.) and Kansas (Nov. 4, 11 a.m.).
