Huskers in 14th at Quail Valley Invitational

Vero Beach, Fla. -- The Nebraska men’s golf team is sitting in 14th place after the first round of the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational with a team score of 576 at the Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, FL. The par-72, 7,350-yard course is host to the last fall outing for the Huskers in 2017. Action will continue on Tuesday with the third and final round.

South Florida leads the field with a total of 552. Notre Dame (558) and Maryland (561) are in second and third, respectively. Memphis and Louisville are tied for fourth, each firing a 562 to round out the top five.

Jace Guthmiller is pacing the Huskers with a score of 138 after shooting a 67 in the first round and a 71 in the second. At six under par, Guthmiller is tied for ninth.

Jackson Wendling, Dylan McCabe, and Sean Song are all tied for NU’s second spot with a 148.  The trio are part of a five-way tie for 59th place after ending the second round four over par. Daniel Pearson rounds out Nebraska with a score of 155 and is sitting in 74th place.
