Huskers Finish 14th at Quail Valley Invitational

VERO BEACH, Fla. - The Nebraska men's golf team came in at 14th place at the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational with a combined score of 865. The Huskers shot 285 in the first round, 291 in the second round and 289 in the third round. The final round wrapped up on Tuesday at the par-72, 7,350-yard course at Quail Valley Golf Club.

South Florida took the first place crown with a score of 820. Michigan State came in second with a score of 839, followed by Louisville in third with 840. Notre Dame and Maryland tied for fourth with scores of 842 to round out the top five.

The junior duo of Jackson Wendling and Jace Guthmiller led the Huskers once again, tying for 42nd overall with scores of 215. Guthmiller and Wendling tied for first among NU golfers three times this fall.

Dylan McCabe came in tied for 55th overall with a score of 219. Sean Song (222) finished tied for 62nd and Daniel Pearson (235) placed tied for 74th to round out the Nebraska lineup.

This marks the end of the fall 2017 season for the Big Red. The Huskers will be back in action in February for Big Ten match play when they escape the cold winter to compete in Palm Coast, Fla.
