Huskers Welcome Jessica Aragon to 2018-19 Roster
Lincoln - The Nebraska women’s tennis program has officially welcomed Jessica Aragon to the roster for the 2018-19 season. An incoming freshman next year, Aragon will join the Huskers as a five-star recruit from Plano, Texas.
Presently ranked No. 52 nationally by TennisRecruiting.net, Aragon posted a recent overall record of 29-19, the new signee hails from Dent Tennis Academy in Keller, Texas, and will graduate with the class of 2018. Aragon chose Nebraska over Baylor, SMU, Denver and UC Santa Barbara. Aragon was the lone recruit to join the Huskers on Nov. 8, 2017.
“Jessica is going to be a tremendous addition to our Husker family,” Head Coach Scott Jacobson said. “She is an incredible competitor, with great balance to her game and has the passion to grow her game over the course of her career. In addition we are receiving one of the best doubles players in the nation. Most importantly, she is a phenomenal human being, a high character individual and will fit in tremendously well here at Nebraska. We are grateful she has chosen our Husker family.”
According to Aragon, speaking with many other schools prior to visiting Nebraska, the Texas native had a competitive list of schools to choose from.
"I knew the type of school that I wanted and the type of people I wanted to be around," Aragon said. "My top list of schools quickly took shape. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln offered great academic and athletic opportunity, but the thing that really impressed me was the way they give back to the community. After going on my unofficial visit of Nebraska, I knew that it was the family and team I wanted to be a part of for my whole collegiate experience. Go Big Red!"
