Peterson Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors
Senior defender Alli Peterson earned second-team CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 recognition, as the women’s soccer honorees were announced on Thursday.
Peterson, an advertising and public relations major, holds a 3.89 grade-point average. She started all 19 games this season and was the lone Husker to play every second, amassing 1,848 minutes in 2017. Peterson, an Iowa City, Iowa native, had one assist as a senior and helped NU’s defense record eight shutouts.
In her four-year career at Nebraska, Peterson scored one goal and tallied two assists. She made 69 appearances, including 65 starts, and helped NU to 30 shutouts during the last four years.
As a junior in 2016, Peterson made 14 appearances to help the Huskers qualify for the NCAA Tournament. In 2015, she started all 17 games and helped Nebraska earn six shutouts. During her freshman year in 2014, Peterson made 19 appearances, including 17 starts, as NU managed five shutouts.
Peterson is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection. In 2015, she received the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. A two-time recipient of the San Foltz Hero 27 Leadership Award, Peterson is also a six-time Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll member and three-time Tom Osborne Citizenship Team honoree.
