Huskers Stand Undefeated at Warhawk Invitational
The second-ranked Nebraska bowling team kicked-off the Warhawk Invitational with an 5-0 record and a total pinfall of 5,203 in five five-game Baker matches on Friday. Their performance puts them in second place in the overall standings.
The Huskers opened the day with a victory over No. 13 Monmouth 1,018-960. This Husker victory was followed immediately by another over No. 15 Adelphi 1,030-916. Continuing their winning streak, the Cornhuskers posted two more wins over No. 6 Stephen F. Austin, 1,090-956, and hosts No. 11 Wisconsin-Whitewater 1,052-838. NU concluded their day with a win over No. 4 Vanderbilt 1,013-1,002.
The Cornhuskers continue play on Saturday starting at 9:35 a.m. (CT) with a match against No. 1 McKendree. NU will then play No. 3 Arkansas State, Elmhurst, Valparaiso and Lincoln Memorial to finish out the traditional style matches. Friday and Saturday’s combined results will determine the seeding for Sunday’s bracket-play championship tournament, in which each team will play three rounds of best-of-seven Baker matches, beginning at 8:30 a.m. (CT).
