Huskers Fifth Heading into Final Day of Prairie View A&M Invitational

Arlington, Texas- The top-ranked Nebraska bowling team went 4-1 on Saturday in five traditional matches, and sits in fifth place at the Prairie View A&M Invitational with an overall record of 6-4 and a total pinfall of 10,116. Teams will play one more traditional match on Sunday to determine seeding for the championship tournament.
Senior Kelly Belzeski leads the Huskers in the individual rankings, sitting in eighth place with an average of 222. Junior Meghan Straub is 11th with an average of 216.2.
The Huskers started the day a pair of victories over third-ranked Arkansas State (1,088-910) and No. 7 Stephen F. Austin (1,015-870).
Nebraska’s only loss of the day came at the hands of No. 17 North Carolina A&T by a score of 1,073-977.
In their next match against Vanderbilt, the Huskers bounced back, finding a 1,070-1,026 victory in a high-scoring contestNU won its last match of the day against Sacred Heart, 1,042-1,009.
On Sunday, the Huskers will play one more team match against hosts, No. 25 Prairie View A&M to determine the seeding for the seeding for the bracket-play championship tournament, in which each team will play three rounds of best-of-seven Baker matches. Action Sunday begins at 8:25 a.m. (CT).
