Huskers Open Big Red Invitational

Lincoln – The top-ranked Nebraska bowling team kicked off the Big Red Invitational with a 3-1 record and currently sits in second place with a pinfall of 4,247 after the first day of competition at the Big Red Invitational at Sun Valley Lanes. Arkansas State currently holds first place with its pinfall of 4,313. McKendree sits in third with a pinfall of 4,048.

The Huskers kicked competition in their lone home tournament of the season with a 1,120-1,016 win over Prairie View A&M, before following with a win over Drury in their next match.

Nebraska's only loss of the day was to No. 2 McKendree, 1,027-929. The Huskers finished the afternoon with a victory over Lincoln Memorial.

The Huskers will return to the lanes Saturday morning, with the second day of competition set to feature five traditional matches beginning at 8:25 a.m. Combined results from Friday and Saturday will determine the seeding for Sunday's best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament, with play set to get underway at 8:55 a.m.
