Minneapolis – Over the first two days of the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center Nebraska’s Abigail Knapton and Katrina Voge have both competed in the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions. The pair still has the platform competition remaining, as they both try to qualify for the NCAA Championships.

Knapton reached the 1-meter and 3-meter finals, but was unable place high enough in either event to qualify for the national meet. On Monday Knapton needed to finish in the top 11 of the 1-meter, but placed 15th with a score of 535.85. On Tuesday the top-nine finishes earned a spot at the NCAA Championships and Knapton came up two spots shy with an 11th-place score of 630.30.

A freshman last season, Knapton won the zone title on the platform and then went on to place fourth at the NCAA Championships.

Voge, a junior from Wisconsin, is competing at the NCAA Zone Championships for the third year in a row and on Monday she finished 44th in the 1-meter with a score of 195.05. Voge also competed on Tuesday and finished 32nd in the prelims of the 3-meter competition with a score of 257.00.

The platform competition is set to start at 11 a.m. on Wednesday and will be streamed live on BTN2Go.com. The top-nine finishers on the women’s side will earn a bid to the NCAA Championships.
