Huskers in 7th After Day Two at Clover Cup

MESA, Ariz. – Through two rounds across two days at the Clover Cup Invitational hosted by Notre Dame, the Nebraska women’s golf team moved into seventh place with a team 36-hole score of 598 on Saturday, March 17 at Longbow Golf Club.

Through one round the Huskers were tied in eighth with Texas State with a team score of 302 at the challenging LongBow Golf Club. The Huskers improved their team score and shot a second-round score of 296, for a 36-hole score of 598. Sophomore Kate Smith leads Nebraska tied in 16th with a three-over-par 36-hole score of 147, posting a 74 on day two after shooting a 73 yesterday.

Sophomore teammate Annie Sritragul isn’t far behind tied in 24th  with a 36-hole score of 149 and posted the best score by a Husker today with a 73, with three birdies on the day.

Freshman Noor Ahmed has also stuck with the top of the pack, tied for 30th through two days with a six-over-par 150 through two rounds. Ahmed has posted a birdie on hole 18 in each day of the Clover Cup to shoot a 75 in both rounds.

Senior Audrey Judd improved on day two, scoring a 74 following her 78-score-performance from Friday’s first round. Judd is tied in 42nd heading into day three. Junior Haley Thiele, who has battled injury this spring season, rounds out the Husker lineup with a 36-hole score of 166, improving from yesterdays’ 18-hole score of 86, to today’s 18-hole score of 80. 

Outside Nebraska’s lineup, junior Jessica Haraden is tied in 58th (76-80-156) and freshman Hannah Thiele is tied in 65th (83-75-158).

The Huskers will finish the third and final round of the Clover Cup on Sunday, March 18 with a shotgun start beginning at 9 a.m. CT. Live scores are available through
