Huskers Sit in 12th at Bighorn Invitational
PALM DESERT, Calif. - The Nebraska men's golf team completed the first two rounds of competition at the Bighorn Invitational on Friday. The Huskers are currently in 12th place with a combined score of 588.
Junior captain Jace Guthmiller competed in the No. 1 spot in in the lineup and currently leads the team with a total score of 145 through the first two rounds, tied for 40th overall. If Guthmiller holds on to the top spot on the team after the third round, this would be his sixth team-leading score of the season.
Fellow junior captain Jackson Wendling posted the next best score on the team after the first day of competition. Wendling posted a combined score of 145 and is currently in 55th place at the event.
Sean Song and Cameron Jones each posted scores of 153 and 148 respectively, and in the middle of day two they each sit tied for 60th overall. Tanner Owen rounds out the Husker lineup with a combined score of 154 after the first day of competition. Owen is currently tied for 62nd overall.
The final results of the tournament will be posted later on Saturday once all of the scores are finalized, and the Huskers will look to make their way up the standings. Check back to Huskers.com for a full recap of the event on Saturday evening.
