Huskers Sit Tied for 12th at Big Ten Championships

BALTIMORE, Md. - The Nebraska men's golf team concluded the first round of the Big Ten Championships on Friday with a team score of 299. The Huskers currently sit tied for 12th with two more days of competition ahead. Action at the 7,181-yard, par-70 layout course will continue with the second round on Saturday and the third and final round on Sunday.

Ohio State sits atop the standings after posting a total score of 279, with Illinois (281), Penn State (284), Northwestern (285) and Maryland (287) rounding out the top five.

Cameron Jones had the best round of the day for the Huskers, posting a first round stroke of 72. Jones currently sits tied for 19th overall.

Junior captains Jackson Wendling and Jace Guthmiller posted scores of 74 and 76, respectively. Wendling is tied for 35th and Guthmiller is tied for 49th.

Tanner Owen golfed for a score of 77 and currently is tied for 56th. Sean Song rounds out the NU lineup after posting a score of 78, tying for 63rd overall.

The Huskers will tee off from the No. 10 hole in Saturday's second round. A recap of the second round will be posted to once results have been finalized.
