Nebraska senior track and field student-athlete Angela Mercurio earned CoSIDA Academic All-District recognition, as the 2017-18 Google Cloud Academic All-District Women’s Track/Cross Country Team were announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Tuesday.

First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, with Google Cloud Academic All-America teams announced in June.

A native of Kitchener, Ontario, Mercurio carries a 3.99 GPA majoring in biochemistry and women's and gender studies. She was a second-team All-American in the triple jump at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships, and earned runner-up honors in the event at this season's Big Ten Indoor Championships.

Mercurio is a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and academic All-Big Ten selection, as well as a three-time USTFCCCA All-Academic Team member. She finished 16th in the women's triple jump at the NCAA West Preliminary Round last weekend.
