13 Huskers Earn Academic All-Big Ten Honors
13 Huskers earned Academic All-Big Ten Honors, announced by the conference on Wednesday, including Laura Barrow, Caitlin Bartsch, Bree Boruff, Bri Cassidy, Tristen Edwards, Kaylan Jablonski, Lexey Kneib, Gina Metzler, Taylor Otte, Alexis Perry, Alyvia Simmons, Madi Unzicker and Austen Urness. The 13 honorees are the most since the Huskers joined the Big Ten conference. Among Big Ten softball programs, only Illinois had more with 15. Ohio State and Minnesota also had 13.
Austen Urness leads the group as a four-time Academic All-Big Ten pick. Barrow, Bartsch, Jablonski, Metzler, Otte have each earned the award three times in their careers. Cassidy, Simmons and Unzicker claimed the honor for a second time, while Boruff, Edwards, Kneib and Perry are first-time recipients.
This brings Nebraska's Academic All-Conference honorees to 170, which includes 69 Big Ten honorees.
