Todd Johnston is in his first season as an assistant athletic trainer in 2018 and third season overall working with the Husker football program. Previously, Johnston served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with football in 2016 and 2017.
Johnston assists with all aspects of the athletic medicine efforts for the football team, including preventative care, immediate care for injured student-athletes and the rehabilitation and reconditioning of injured student-athletes.
While serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer, Johnston earned his master's degree from Nebraska in May of 2018. A native of Boise, Idaho, he earned his bachelor's degree in athletic training from Boise State University in 2016. Johnston also holds certifications in Blood Flow Restriction Rehabilitation and NASM Corrective Exercise Specialist in addition to his National Athletic Trainers’ Association membership.
