Huskers Splash into Summer Sectionals

The Nebraska swimming and diving team will be represented by 21 athletes as they travel to Jenks, Okla. on Wednesday, July 11, to compete in the 2018 Speedo Sectionals. The event, featuring eight sessions over four days, will be held at Jenks Trojan Aquatic Center.
The opening session is set for Wednesday at 9 a.m. (CT), while the following three days will have preliminary sessions at 9 a.m. with finals following at 5:30 p.m. (CT). Saturday, finals will be held at 5 p.m. (CT).
The following athletes that will compete are Gabrielle Baratta, Tori Beeler, Shea Bougie, Madison Coughlen, Kaylyn Flatt, Lindsay Helferich, Jacqueline Jeschke, Abigail Knapton, Allison Kopas, Sutton Marvin, Morgan McCafferty, Anna McDonald, Izzie Murray, Jessica Pentlarge, Dana Posthuma, Rachel Powers, Savannah Savitt, Lindsey Stalheim, Clara Walstad, Gwen Worlton and Allie Worrall.
Last week, Knapton and Haebig earned spots on the first-team 2017 CSCAA Scholar All-American team. Helferich, McDonald and Murray earned honorable mention. The first-team CSCAA Scholastic All-America honors recognize student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective swimming and diving national championship meets. To earn honorable-mention CSCAA Scholastic All-America status, a student-athlete must achieve a 3.50 or better GPA while attaining an NCAA B qualifying standard during the season or participating in an NCAA regional or zone diving competition.
