Huskers Announce 2018-19 Schedule

The Nebraska rifle team released its 2018-19 schedule, announced by Head Coach Ashley MacAllister on Monday.

“I am so excited for the 2018-19 season,” MacAllister said. “We have a great group coming back and the freshmen are really going to have a strong presence on this team. I think that this year’s team is the most cohesive team we have had in the past few years. They are ready to hit the ground running this fall.”

NU kicks off the season on Oct. 6 by hosting defending national champion Kentucky at 8 a.m. at the NU Rifle Range. The Huskers then begin a long stretch of away matches that starts with a trip to Fairbanks, Alaska, to face Ohio State and Alaska-Fairbanks on Oct. 13 and Oct. 14, respectively.  On Oct. 21, Nebraska will take on West Virginia in Morgantown, W.Va., at 7 a.m. CT.

The Big Red opens the month of November by traveling to Akron, Ohio. Nebraska competes against Akron and Morehead State on Nov. 3 and will face Morehead State again on Nov. 4. Matches begin at 7 a.m. CT on both days. On Nov. 10, the Huskers will challenge Jacksonville State in Jacksonville, Ala., at 9 a.m. CT.

Nebraska will take nearly two months off before facing Army West Point and the Coast Guard in West Point, N.Y. on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13, respectively. Both matches begin at 8 a.m. CT. The Huskers then return home to host Navy on Jan. 18 and NC State on Jan. 20. Both matches are set to start at 9 a.m. The match against the Wolfpack will serve as Senior Day for Nina Radulovic, Hannah Virga and Rachel Yager.

On Feb. 2, Nebraska takes on Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss., at 9 a.m. followed by a match against Memphis in Memphis, Tenn., on Feb. 3 at 8 a.m.

The Huskers begin the postseason on Feb. 17 with the NCAA Qualifiers in Murray, Ky. The GARC Championships will take place in late February. Specific times and dates will be announced at a later time. The NCAA Championships will be March 8-9 and will be hosted by West Virginia.
