Huskers Reel in a Trio of Life-Time Bests

Irvine, Calif.--Three swimmers represented Nebraska at the 2018 Phillips 66 National Championships and World Championship Trials on Wednesday, July 25th-Sunday, July 29th.

The long-course meter championship meet was held at William Woollett, Jr. Aquatic Center in Irvine, Calif. This meet serves are the selection event for the USA National Teams competing at the 2018 Pan Pacific Championships, 2019 World Championships, 2019 World University Games, 2019 Pan American Championships and 2018 Jr. Pan Pacific Championships.

Junior Tori Beeler accumulated two life-bests after placing 24th in the 50 breast (32.70) and 41st in the 100 breast (1:10.79). Sophomore Autumn Haebig competed in three events, including the 50 back, 400 free and 100 back. Haebig reached a life-time best in the 400 free (4:19.69). Incoming freshman, Maggie Berning made her outdoor summer nationals debut by competing in the 200 fly (2:16.25).

The Huskers will return to the Devaney Natatorium Friday, Sept, 28th against South Dakota State to kick off the 2018-19 season.
