Huskers in 13th at Rod Myers Invitational
DURHAM, N.C. - The Nebraska men's golf team concluded day one of the Duke/Rod Myers Invitational after golfing for a total of 610 after the first two rounds. The Huskers improved on their first round mark after combining for a score of 299 in the second round and look to build on the momentum and gain ground in the final round on Sunday.
Penn State leads the tournament after combining for a team total of 565 after the first day of action. North Carolina (566), Duke (574), Florida State (575) and Liberty (579) round out the top five.
Jackson Wendling leads the Husker lineup with a total score of 149 and is currently tied for 39th overall. Tristan Nelko is not far behind after golfing for a total of 152 and looks to continue to make strides in his first collegiate competition. The freshman currently sits tied for 55th.
Tanner Owen is tied for 63rd after combining for a total of 154. Dylan McCabe is just behind him and is tied for 66th with a score of 155. Jace Guthmiller rounds out the NU lineup tied for 71st with a score of 160.
The Huskers will be back in action Sunday morning for the third and final round of the invitational. The Nebraska squad will start on the No. 10 tee and tee off at 6:35 a.m. CT.
