Spring 2019

Jessica Aragon finished 10-12 in spring singles play, including a 4-7 record in Big Ten play. She had her most success playing out of the No. 5 singles spot, where she was 9-9 on the year. She finished 13-10 (6-4 Big Ten) in doubles play with Vasanti Shinde and Claire Reifeis, including a 13-6 mark paired with Reifeis.

Fall 2018

Aragon started off her first season at NU with a stellar performance at the Minnesota Invitational, Sept. 21-23. She went a perfect 3-0 in Singles Flight D, capping off her weekend with a victory in the championship over River Hart (MINN) 6-2, 6-4. Aragon and doubles partner Vasanti Shinde went 3-3 together in their first tournament playing together. 

At the ITA Regionals in Iowa City, Iowa, Aragon won her first singles match in the 128-player bracket, defeating Riddhi Sharma (UMKC) 6-4, 2-6, (7-5). Aragon fell in the round of 64 to end her first fall season with a 4-1 singles record. In doubles play, Aragon and Shinde won their first three matches to advance to the quarterfinals in the 64-team doubles bracket. They lost to Martina Okalova/Vera Ploner (Tulsa) 8-2 in the quarterfinals.

Before Nebraska

Aragon, a five-star recruit out of Plano, Texas, was recruited by the Huskers during her time at Dent Tennis Academy. Located in Keller, Texas, Dent serves as a full-time boarding school and training facility for elite tennis players. Under the tutelage of Taylor, Phil and Jenny Dent, who were each ranked as top 50 players in the world at one point, Aragon became one of the most highly sought after players in Texas.

She placed third in the 2017 Texas Girls Grandslam 18's singles division and earned first in doubles. Aragon won the Austin ITF doubles division in 2016 and finished second at the 2017 Silver Ball Girls 18's Winter Nationals in doubles.


The daughter of Joseph and Judy Aragon, Jessica was born on June 13, 1999 in Plano, Texas. She has two brothers, Joseph and Jacob. She also has one sister, Amanda. Aragon is a business major and earned spots on the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll in the fall and spring semesters of 2018-19. She was a member of the Tom Osborne Citizenship Team in 2019. She elected to come to Nebraska over Colorado, SMU, Oklahoma and Baylor amongst others.
