Moreno Leads Huskers in Day Two at Bobby Bayliss

Notre Dame, Ind. -- Freshman Victor Moreno Lozano had another three-set victory on Saturday to lead the Huskers on the second day of competition at the Bobby Bayliss Invitational, hosted by the University of Notre Dame.

After knocking off Daniel Rayl (Notre Dame), 4-6, 7-6, 13-11 on Friday, Moreno defeated Morgan Lohan (Iowa) 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 (5) in his first match on Saturday. Later on the day, Moreno lost a tough one to Luis Heredia (Marquette), 6-2, 6-2. Moreno now holds a 4-2 record in singles competition on his first season at Nebraska. 

Senior Jon Meyer beat Kris Knof (Western Michigan), 6-3, 2-6, 1-0 (7), but dropped a three-set battle to Nikita Snezkho (Iowa), 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (4). Junior Micah Klousia fell short to Matej Svetlicic (Western Michigan), 7-5, 6-4, and to Daniel Rayl (Notre Dame), 6-3, 6-4.

The final rounds of singles and doubles will take place on Sunday, starting at 8 a.m. CT.
