Scouting Ohio State
Nebraska holds a 12-6 record against Ohio State dating back to 1999. The Buckeyes have emerged victorious in the last four meetings but the Huskers will look to reverse the trend. This will serve as Ohio State’s first match of the 2018-19 season after finishing seventh at the 2018 NCAA Championships in March. The shooters to watch will be juniors Jacob Buchanan and Rihann Travis. Both are returning All-Americans who have personal bests of at least 595 in air rifle. The Buckeyes are coached by Ryan Tanoue, who enters his seventh season in 2018-19.
The Huskers are 2-30 against the Nanooks dating back to the teams’ first meeting in 2000. Included in that record are two ties, resulting in a loss and the Huskers’ second win. This will serve as Alaska’s first match of the 2018-19 season after concluding 2017-18 with a sixth-place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships. The Nanooks are coached by Layne Lewis.
