Huskers Announce 2019 Women's Gymnastics Schedule

Lincoln, Neb. -- Nebraska women’s gymnastics announced its 2019 schedule on Thursday, Oct. 12. The slate features five home events, including the Masters Classic on March 16, 2019.

Coming off a sixth-place finish in the NCAA Championships last season, the Huskers open the season with a road trip to defending national champions UCLA on Jan. 4, 2019.

On Jan. 12 the Big Red hosts Washington, who finished 11th last season, and Lindenwood. This meet is part of Nebraska's Tumble & Rumble promotion, as Nebraska wrestling team will complete in the Deaveny Center at the same time against Northern Iowa.

A week later the team will travel to New Brunswick, N.J., to take on Rutgers on Jan. 19. Nebraska returns home the following week to face Illinois on Jan. 26. The Huskers then travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., to take on defending Big Ten champion Michigan on Feb. 3 before returning home to take meet Minnesota on Feb. 9.

Following its meeting with the Gophers, Nebraska takes two weekend trips to the state of Ohio. First the Huskers meet Ohio State on Feb. 16 before participating in Elevate the Stage 2019 in Toledo, Ohio on Feb. 22. The meet in Toledo will include fellow Big Ten opponents Iowa, Michigan State, Penn State and Maryland.

In early March, Nebraska will meet Southern Utah at home on March 2 before heading to Denver, Colo., on March 10 to take on Denver. Arizona State and Pittsburg.

On March 16th the Huskers host the 29th annual Masters Classic which features Kentucky, Boise State and Illinois State at the Devaney Center at 7 p.m.

The postseason starts on March 23 with the Big Ten Championships, hosted by Penn State. NCAA Regional competition is set for April 4 at four campus sites, including Georgia, Michigan, LSU and Oregon State.

The new NCAA Championships format now takes the top two team from each regional. There will be two semifinal competitions at the NCAA Championships with four teams advancing to the "Four on the Floor". The NCAA Championships take place April 19-20 in Fort Worth, Texas. 

Season ticket information will go on sale on November 2. General admission season tickets are $26 for adult general admission, and $14 dollars for youth and senior general admission. Single event tickets are $5 for adult general admission, and $3 for youth and senior general admission and will go on sale December 10. Children six and under may attend the meet for free, as well as NU students with N-card.
