Huskers Compete at Warhawk Invitational
Milwaukee, Wis.- The Nebraska Women’s bowling team went 7-3 on Saturday at the Warhawk Invitational in Milwaukee, Wis. The team finished the day with a total pinfall of 10,376 to end the day in third place.
Junior Allison Morris finished first in the individual standings with her average of 238.8. Junior Estefania Prieto also landed in the top five, taking fourth place with her average 223.4. Raquel Orozco and Meghan Straub finished in 6th and 9th places, respectively. Orozco averaged 219.4 and Straub averaged 218.00.
The Huskers began the day with a 1,058-1,028 victory over Maryville. NU continued to beat LIU (1,159-1018), Adelphi (1,120-929), and Lewis (1127-834) before falling to Fairleigh Dickinson by a score of 1,025-1,091 in the final match of the day.
Nebraska will open the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament at 8:30 a.m. (CT) on Sunday with a match against Sam Houston State. The winner of this match will face the loser of the Mckendree-Arkansas State match for a spot in the final.
