#ProBigRed: Huskers in the NFL Divisional Playoffs

Ndamukong Suh and Rex Burkhead are expected to help their teams get one step closer to Super Bowl LIII this weekend in the conference championship rounds.

The NFC Championship will feature the Rams visiting the Saints at 2:05 p.m. (CT) on Sunday. The competition will be televised on FOX. Suh is expected to start at defensive tackle for the Rams and will be looking to make an impact on both defense and special teams.

Sunday evening, the Patriots will visit the Chiefs at 5:40 p.m. (CT) in the AFC Championship. The game will broadcast on CBS. Burkhead will appear in the backfield for the Patriots several times on Sunday and may also make special team appearances.

During the Divisional Round, Matt Slauson’s Colts fell to the Chiefs, 31-13. Slauson did not appear in the contest, as he broke his spine earlier this season.

Suh and the Rams advanced to the NFC Championship after defeating the Cowboys 30-22 on Saturday. Suh started at nose tackle for the Rams and piled up four tackles, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries. Maliek Collins, Randy Gregory and Brett Maher all saw playing time for the Cowboys. Collins started at defensive tackle and played the entire game, racking up six tackles and one tackle for loss. Gregory participated on both the defensive and special team units and accounted for one tackle. Maher successfully converted both of his extra point attempts on the day. Brandon Reilly was picked up by the Cowboys on Tuesday and saw action throughout the week on the practice squad.

Burkhead and the Patriots beat the Chargers 41-28 on Sunday to advance to the AFC Championship. Burkhead started at running back and rushed for a six-yard touchdown midway through the second quarter. He finished the day with four rushes for 12 yards and a touchdown, one reception for seven yards and accounted for one tackle on special teams.

The Saints defeated the Eagles 20-14 on Sunday afternoon. Nathan Gerry (Eagles) saw action on both the special team and defensive units and accounted for one tackle.

DE Randy Gregory: Recorded one tackle, while participating in 46 percent of the plays on defense and six special team snaps.

PK Brett Maher: Successfully converted both of his extra point attempts.

LB Nathan Gerry: Appeared in 88 percent of the special team opportunities and recorded one tackle. Gerry also saw action in five defensive snaps.

DT Ndamukong Suh: Started at nose tackle and piled up four tackles, one tackle for loss and two quarterback hurries. Suh appeared in 84 percent of the plays on defense.
