Huskers Strong at Sunshine State Classic

Orlando, Flor.- The Nebraska women’s bowling team went on 4-1 on Saturday at the Sunshine State Classic. The Huskers sit in first place with a 6-4 record and a total pinfall of 10,093.


The Husker’s traditional style matches began with a victory against Delaware State (980-879). The Huskers continued their dominance, taking down Sacred Heart (988-923) and  Prairie View A&M (958-868). NU took down Tulane (1,065-906) before falling to Lincoln Memorial by a score of 1,021-1,093.


Junior Allison Morris dominated the individual standings, finishing in first with her average of 225.8. Junior Raquel Orozco also finished in the top ten, taking ninth place with her average of 206. Senior Meghan Straub took fourteenth place with an average of 198.6


Nebraska will open the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament at 8:25 a.m. (CT) on Sunday with a match against Vanderbilt.
