Huskers First at Stormin' Ladyjack Invitational
Dallas, Texas- The Nebraska women’s bowling team went 4-1 on Saturday at the Stormin’ Ladyjack Invitational. The Huskers finished the day in first place with an overall record of 7-3 and a total pinfall of 9,821.
The Huskers kicked off Saturday’s traditional style games with a victory over McKendree (993-958.) NU’s only loss of the day came from Tulane, as the Pelicans defeated the Huskers by a score of 967-988. The Huskers found their next victory over Stephen F. Austin by a score of 1,046-966. The Huskers also took down Arkansas State 983-893 before closing the day with a victory over Adelphi 995-818.
Senior Meghan Straub led the Huskers in the individual standings, taking first place with her average of 219.8. Junior Raquel Orozco finished thirteenth with an average of 199.
Nebraska will open Sunday’s match play with one more traditional match against Vanderbilt that will determine the seeding for the best-of-seven Baker format championship tournament.
