The Nebraska swimming and diving team travels to Bloomington, Ind. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, to compete in the 2019 Big Ten Championships. The event, featuring 11 sessions over four days, will be held at the University of Indiana’s Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center.

The opening session is set for Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. (CT), while the following three days will have preliminary sessions at 10 a.m., with finals following at 5:30 p.m.  The diving preliminary rounds and consolation finals will begin at Noon on the final three days of the meet.

Nebraska will aim to improve on last season's 10th-place finish at the conference meet. The Huskers will look to returning top-24 finishers Tori Beeler, Kaylyn Flatt, Autumn Haebig, Lindsay Helferich, Abigail Knapton, Allison Kopas, Anna McDonald, Izzie Murray, Dana Posthuma and Gwen Worlton to help continue the program's upward climb. At last season’s meet, the Huskers racked up six top-16 finishes and 18 top-24 performances.

Freshman Madison Coughlen, Haebig, Worlton rank in the Big Ten’s top 16 this year, with Haebig ranked at 11th. Nebraska’s diving team is led by Knapton. The junior from Omaha is ranked number one in the conference on the platform board. Knapton is also a two-time Big-Ten Diver of the Week.

The University of Indiana’s Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center has played host to four Big Ten Championships, including the women’s meet in 1998, 2001, 2005 and 2011. In 2017, the Aquatics Center was also the host to Big Ten Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship, NCAA Zone C Diving competition, Junior Nationals, two water polo National Championships and the CWPA Western Division Championship.

The Big Ten Championships will see six NU seniors, Flatt, Helferich, Jacqueline Jeschke, Morgan McCafferty, McDonald and Posthuma competing together in their last conference meet. The six Husker seniors have contributed 20 dual-meet victories, amassing 278 top-five finishes and 58 individual event titles over their careers.

The Big Ten Championships will be streamed live via BTN Plus on BTN2Go. Complimentary access to BTN2Go is available to viewers connected to the internet network of a Big Ten university. Fans elsewhere can sign up for the pay-per-view webcasts.
