Tony Washington Jr. is in his first season as a graduate assistant at Nebraska in 2019. Washington joins the Huskers after spending the past four seasons pursuing a playing career in the National Football League.

Washington signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2015 and spent two seasons with the team. He then was with the Tennessee Titans for the 2017 and 2018 seasons before entering the coaching ranks.

Washington was a linebacker at Oregon from 2010 to 2014, when Scott Frost was on the Duck staff as an offensive assistant. Washington played in 51 games in his career, starting all 28 games as a junior and senior. He totaled 158 tackles in his career with 25.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, eight forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and three passes defended. An honorable-mention All-Pac-12 selection as a junior, Washington was a member of three conference championship teams at Oregon, and the Ducks played in the inaugural College Football Playoff in 2014 when Washington was a senior.

Washington earned his bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology from Oregon.
