Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll Awarded to 37 Huskers
The Nebraska Swimming and Diving team produced 37 student-athletes who were awarded the Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll for Spring 2019, including six 4.0 GPAs.
May graduate Lindsay Helferich became just the third women's swimmer in Nebraska history to claim CoSIDA Academic All-America honors. Helferich (Odessa, Texas), who graduated with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a civil engineering major, received her eighth consecutive Nebraska Scholar-Athlete Award. Helferich, who was honored as a Nebraska Outstanding Scholar, was a two-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and a three-team Academic All-Big Ten selection for the Huskers.
Senior diver Abigail Knapton (Omaha, Neb.) adds another honor roll award to round out six consecutive awards. Knapton had a stellar junior campaign, becoming a four-time All-American and establishing herself as the best diver in Nebraska history. She maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA while racking up 13 individual titles among 23 top-five finishes.
