Knowing that Nebraska has student-athletes from nearly every state and 18 different countries, efforts have been made to capitalize on the department's wealth of diversity by integrating such students into various campus and community-based programs.
This involvement, along with ongoing encouragement to students from different backgrounds, abilities and beliefs, allows Nebraska athletics to continually promote a multicultural environment.
Through the multicultural support program, race relations experts from the center for the study of sport in society have conducted sensitivity, diversity and gender-violence workshops for staff and student-athletes.
The following links provide a sample of the types of programs Nebraska offers to support its student-athletes from around the nation and the world.
