She added a tie for 21st at the NCAA Central Regional (78-76-74-228) in Bryan, Texas, to help the Huskers qualify for their third-ever NCAA Championships appearance.

Ruiz won her first career title with a victory at the Baja Invitational (75-73-75-223) to help the Huskers to the team championship on Feb. 13-14. She followed that performance with a second-place individual finish at the prestigious Central District Invitational in Parrish, Fla., Feb. 19-20. Ruiz fired rounds of 79-75-71 to finish at 219 to post her fifth top-five tournament showing of the season.

Her efforts at the Baja Invitational and the Central District Invitational helped her claim Big 12 Golfer-of-the-Month honors for February.

She opened the year with a tie for fifth at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic, where she fired rounds of 69-71-75 to close at one-under-par 215. She added a tie for third (70-77-78-225) to lead the Huskers to a Chip-N Club Invitational title at Wilderness Ridge, Sept. 26-27.

She tied for second at the Marilyn Smith/Sunflower Invitational with a one-under-par 215, that included the best individual round in school history with her five-under-par 67 in the second round.
