Offensive Coordinator Jay Norvell

On preparing for this week's game
"We are concentrating on our preparation, the same things that we do every week. It’s Tuesday. We worked on base (offense) today. It’s all about execution, so we’re trying to focus on our game plan and the things that we have to do to win.”

On Marlon Lucky
“Marlon has improved steadily all along. Coach (Randy) Jordan really is putting pressure on those kids to improve all of the time. He continually improved through training camp in every way. So much of a back’s timing is his footwork, and if you watch him, he’s a lot more comfortable doing all of our runs now. That’s because of repetition. He’s had a ton of reps with that first unit. He feels comfortable behind that first line and with Zac (Taylor), and it’s starting to show on the field.”

On the USC defense
“They are awfully good. They are very talented. They have a lot of speed and run to the football. There are a lot of good players over there. I think they are very comparable to some of the top teams in our league, like Oklahoma. They have a lot of speed at linebacker, good pass rush and athletic kids in the secondary. It’s a very good defense that we’re facing. We have to do a good job of executing to be able to move the ball and score points against these guys.”
