Career Notes
2009-Roto battled through several minjor injuries during the 2008-09 season, but he did make one appearance for the Huskers, losing a 20-5 technical for to Chadron State’s Jimmy Savala at the UNK Loper Open on Dec. 13.

2008-Roto saw action in six open tournaments at 133 and 141 pounds, notching a 2-12 mark. Roto earned his first career collegiate win with a 5-0 decision over Hastings’ Mitch Hevert at the Kaufman-Brand Open on Nov. 17.

The highlight of Roto’s season was his 16-0 technical fall of Hastings’ Matt Watchorn at 141 pounds at the Brand Open on Jan. 19.

2007-Roto finished 0-6 in his first year in the NU program, competing in the UNI Open on Dec. 2, the Dana College Open on Jan. 6, and the Glen Brand Open on Jan. 20.

Before Nebraska-Roto was a three-year letterwinner at Palatine High School for Coach Dan Collins. As a junior, Roto won the 140-pound championship in the Berman Holiday Wrestling Classic, hosted by Palatine High School. Roto also lettered in football at PHS.

Personal
Peter was born in Evanston, Ill., on Jan. 25, 1988. He is the son of Marianne and Rick Roto. Peter has two sisters, Stephanie and Christine, and one brother, Nick. Peter is majoring in English education at Nebraska.
