Bio

Senior (1991-92)
A four-year letterwinner for the Huskers, Kim Yancey closed her Nebraska career with 532 points, 142 rebounds, 226 assists and 87 steals to average 4.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in her career.

As a senior, the 5-6 guard from Holden, Mo., started 20 of 32 games to help lead the Huskers to a 21-11 overall record and a trip to the National Women's Invitational Tournament in Amarillo, Texas.  She averaged 4.5 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game as a senior, while shooting 45 percent from the field and 75.9 percent from the free throw line. She increased her scoring average to 5.4 points per game in Big Eight action to help the Huskers finish with a 9-5 league mark.

She scored a season-high 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including a 2-for-4 effort from three-point range, while adding a season-high six assists in a win over Kansas State on Feb. 8. She added 11 points and dished out three assists at Oklahoma State on Feb. 1, after scoring 10 points while adding two rebounds, three assists and three steals in a win at Cal State Northridge on Jan. 4.

Junior (1990-91)
Yancey played in 27 of the Huskers' 28 games and averaged 2.9 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.1 assists per game. She scored a season-high 19 points against Sam Houston State. She also tied a career high with eight rebounds against Wisconsin.

A dedicated worker, Yancey earned Nebraska's "Most Dedicated Lifter" award following the season.

Sophomore (1989-90)
Yancey averaged 8.7 points and 2.6 assists per game in her second year in Nebraska's lineup. She started 18 games and scored a career-high 20 points against Oklahoma. She also tied a career high with seven assists in wins over Georgia State and Iowa State.

For the season, she connected on 15 three-pointers and shot 31.3 percent from long range.

Freshman (1988-89)
A part-time starter as a true freshman, Yancey earned five starts while playing in 26 of NU's 28 games on the year. She averaged 2.6 points, 1.0 rebound and 2.0 assists per game. She scored a season-high 12 points against Kansas and established her career high with seven assists against U.S. International.

In Big Eight Conference action, Yancey averaged 3.3 points and 1.3 rebounds in 15.6 minutes per game.

High School
A three-time all-state guard at Holden High School in Missouri, Yancey earned honorable-mention All-America honors as a senior. She was also named one of the top 100 high school players in the country.

Personal
The daughter of Charles and Judy Yancey, Kim was born on April 19, 1970, in Kansas City, Mo. She was an education/health major at Nebraska.
