Shelley Scott earned a letter for the Huskers in her only full season as a basketball player in 1977-78. In her career she played in 29 games with two starts and scored 125 points, while grabbing 78 rebounds and dishing out 20 assists.
The 5-8 guard from Seward, Neb., helped the Huskers to a 12-14 overall record in 1977-78. Scott was also a freshman on the Nebraska softball team in 1977-78, and went on to be a four-year letterwinner on the field for the Huskers.
A talented all-around athlete at Seward High School, Scott was an all-class, all-stater in basketball and an all-state selection in volleyball. In addition to her sucess as a softball player, Scott was also the valedictorian of her senior class at Seward.
The daughter of Verl and Helen Scott, Shelley was born May 6, 1959 in Lincoln, Neb. She was a physical education major at Nebraska. Shelley's father lettered for Nebraska in football in 1950, 1951 and 1952.
