A two-time letterwinner for Nebraska following the 1975-76 and 1976-77 seasons, Sherry Brink was one of the top players on the Huskers' early basketball teams. She closed her NU career with 704 points, 386 rebounds and 54 assists while appearing in 63 contests with 58 starts.
In her career, she averaged 11.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game.
In 1975-76, the 5-8 forward from Lincoln played in 28 games with 24 starts, averaging 11.9 points and 6.9 rebounds per game. She hit 33.2 percent (142-427) of her shots from the field, while knocking down 67.6 percent (48-71) of her free throw attempts. She scored a season-high 24 points and finished the year with 332 points, 195 rebounds and 26 assists.
Brink produced similar numbers in her second season, averaging 10.6 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. She appeared in 35 games with 34 starts and hit 33.4 percent (160-479) of her shots from the field. She added a 64.2 percent (52-81) success rate at the charity stripe. She closed the season with 372 points, 191 rebounds and 28 assists to help the Huskers to a 21-16 overall record.
