Grainne Murray was a part-time starter and earned a letter in her only season with the Nebraska women's basketball team in 1978-79.
A 5-9 guard from Burlingame, Calif., Murray played in 36 games with 18 starts and ranked sixth on the team in scoring with 5.6 points per game, and sixth on the team in rebounding with 4.4 boards per contest. She also ranked second on the squad with 123 assists and tied for fourth on the team with 41 steals.
Murray connected on 50 percent (83-166) of her shots from the field and 73.4 percent (36-49) of her free throw attempts. She finished her NU career with 202 points, 158 rebounds, 123 assists, 41 steals and nine blocked shots.
Murray helped the Huskers to a 23-13 overall record under Coach Lorrie Gallagher, which tied the school record for most wins in a single season.
