Osmond F. Field guided the Nebraska track and field program from 1910-11. His teams placed third during both of his appearances at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships and notched five individual league champions overall. One of his athletes, Guy Reed, won the 440-yard dash in Field's final season prior to taking over the reigns as head coach in 1912. The Huskers' 4x440-yard relay won MWC titles during both of his seasons as coach. Field also served as NU's head basketball coach in 1911, when Nebraska recorded a 9-9 record.
