Cody Volk earned his first letter as a senior after providing depth for the Huskers at offensive tackle. Volk played in one career game against Baylor as a redshirt freshman in 2000. A walk-on, Volk redshirted in his first year at NU in 1999.

Volk lettered for three seasons for Coach Bob Schnitzler at Battle Creek High School. He played offensive tackle, center and defensive tackle and earned all-conference honors on both offense and defense as a senior. He lettered in wrestling for four seasons and was a state champion wrestler at heavyweight as a senior. He also lettered three times in track.

The son of Van and Jean Volk, Cody was born on Feb. 18, 1981. His cousin, Dave, was a three-year starter at offensive tackle for Nebraska from 1998 to 2001, and is currently a member of the Dallas Cowboys. Volk earned his bachelor's degree in criminal justice in May of 2004.
