2003 (Senior)
T.J. Hollowell capped a solid Nebraska career by earning honorable-mention All-Big 12 honors as a senior. Hollowell started all 13 games at Buck linebacker and finished third on the team in tackles with 80 stops, trailing only fellow linebackers Barrett Ruud and Demorrio Williams in 2003. Hollowell added eight tackles for loss (38 yards), including 1.5 sacks (13 yards), along with seven quarterback hurries, a fumble caused and a pair of interceptions. He also ranked second on the team and tied the NU linebacker record with eight pass breakups.

Hollowell played one of the best games of his career in the 2003 regular-season finale at Colorado with a season-high nine tackles, including seven solos. He also forced a fumble and intercepted a fourth-quarter pass and returned it 25 yards to setup the Huskers' final touchdown.

He went on to sign a free agent contract with the New York Giants following the 2004 NFL Draft.

Hollowell finished his career ranked 344th on NU's career tackle list with 173 total tackles, including 76 solos, in 49 career games with 15 starts.

2002 (Junior)
Hollowell played in all 14 games and made two starts while sharing the Will linebacker spot with fellow Texan Demorrio Williams. Hollowell finished eighth on the team with 60 tackles, including 20 solo stops. He had a pair of tackles for loss, including a five-yard sack against Utah State, and ranked fifth on the team with nine quarterback hurries. His top game of the season was a career-best 10-tackle effort at Iowa State. He added six tackles each at Penn State and Kansas State, with five stops in Husker wins over Troy State and McNeese State. Hollowell’s nine quarterback hurries were fueled by three each against Utah State and Kansas. He also recovered a fumble against Kansas State and broke up a pass vs. Texas. Hollowell missed spring ball in 2002 after off-season surgery on his right shoulder.

2001 (Sophomore)
Hollowell played in 12 games (including Rose Bowl) as a backup to Mark Vedral at Will linebacker and made 26 tackles. He had two tackles for 13 yards lost, and added one sack and five quarterback hurries.

After missing the season-opening game with an ankle sprain, Hollowell returned to action vs. Troy State and made a great contribution. He had a season-high eight tackles in the game and tied a career-best with three solo stops. He also had one tackle for one yard lost, as the Huskers limited the Trojans to minus-25 yards rushing.

Hollowell recorded three tackles as the Husker Blackshirts held Missouri to only three points and 205 yards of total offense. He also notched his first career sack, a 12-yard TFL of Kirk Farmer. Hollowell also turned in a solid performance vs. Kansas State with four tackles. Hollowell had one assisted tackle against Miami in the 2002 Rose Bowl.

2000 (Freshman)
Hollowell saw action in all 11 games and the Alamo Bowl as a true freshman, primarily as a member of NU's kickoff coverage team. He also served as a backup Sam linebacker behind starter Scott Shanle.

Hollowell totaled seven tackles, including five solo stops. He was nominated for Big 12 Special Teams Player-of-the-Week honors after two unassisted tackles in his first career game vs. San Jose State. He had a season-high three tackles vs. Iowa. Hollowell played in the 2000 Alamo Bowl in his home state of Texas, but did not record any tackles.

Before Nebraska (Copperas Cove HS)
Hollowell was a standout linebacker for Coach Jack Welch at Copperas Cove High School in Texas. He finished his career as Copperas Cove's career leader in tackles with 311 after recording 159 stops, including three sacks and 21 tackles for loss, en route to earning Class 5A (state's largest class) all-state honors as a senior.

One of four Texas prep standouts in the 2000 recruiting class, Hollowell earned all-district honors at safety as a sophomore and at outside linebacker during his junior campaign before moving to the middle linebacker position. Hollowell also ran track during his junior and senior seasons. As a senior, he competed on the 4x100 relay team that finished second at the Texas state championships in a time of 40.53, and in the long jump, where he had a best of 23-0. He chose Nebraska over Texas, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Oklahoma and Miami.

Personal
The son of Renee Hollowell, T.J. (Thomas Anthony) was born April 8, 1981. He was a three-time member of the Unity Council.
