2003 (Senior)
Tim Green battled through an injury-ravaged Husker career to see his first game action against Utah State and Southern Miss before missing the rest of his 2003 season with a recurring back injury. Green earned his first letter for the Huskers as a senior.
The 6-4, 235-pound offensive guard missed all of his junior season after undergoing back surgery in August 2002. Green missed the entire 2000 and 2001 seasons after suffering a torn right ACL, PCL and MCL during 2000 fall camp. A scholarship athlete out of Omaha Westside, Green redshirted his first year at Nebraska in 1999.
2002 (Junior)
Green missed the season after undergoing back surgery in August.
2001 (Sophomore)
Green recovered from his knee injury enough to participate in some of the spring drills in 2001, but did not see action in the fall.
2000 (Redshirt Freshman)
Green suffered a torn right ACL, PCL and MCL during fall camp, had subsequent surgery, and did not see action in 2000.
1999 (Redshirt)
A scholarship athlete, Green redshirted his first year at NU.
Before Nebraska (Westside HS)
Green was a three-year starter on both sides of the ball for Coach Larry Morrissey at Omaha Westside. Green played defensive tackle and offensive guard, helping the Warriors to an 8-3 record and a Class A quarterfinal appearance in 1998. Green finished his senior season with 25 solo tackles, 55 assists, eight quarterback sacks and had 70 knock-downs on the offensive side of the ball. He earned super-state honors from the Lincoln Journal Star and All-Nebraska honors from the Omaha World-Herald as an offensive lineman in 1998. He was a second-team super-state honoree as a junior and Class A all-state as a junior by the Lincoln Journal Star. Green was the first player to earn both the offensive and defensive lineman-of-the-year awards as named by the Metro Coaches Association. Green also qualified for state in track each of his four years. As a senior, Green won the Class A shot put title with a throw of 58-8 3/4 after finishing second in the state as a junior. He was a finalist for the World-Herald Male Student-Athlete of the Year in 1999. He attended the Big Red Football School three years and selected Nebraska over Tennessee, Notre Dame, Florida State and Michigan.
Personal
The son of Steve and Linda Green, Tim was born on Jan. 27, 1981. Tim's brother Mike, who graduated from Westside in 1997, was also a walk-on offensive guard with the Huskers (1997-99).
