2003 (Senior)
Tim Liley (pronounced LIE-lee) was a regular in Nebraska's wide receiver rotation as a senior in 2003. The 6-2, 205-pounder from Lakewood, Colo., played in all 13 games and made the only start of his career against Troy State in 2003. He managed two receptions for 15 yards, including a five-yard grab in the opener against Oklahoma State and a career-long nine-yard catch against Colorado in the regular-season finale.

2002 (Junior)
Liley played in six games, but did not have a catch. He played in NU's first three games and also vs. McNeese State, Missouri and Kansas.

2001 (Sophomore)
Liley played against Baylor and Kansas, but did not have a reception.

2000 (Redshirt Freshman)
A reserve, Liley played in two games (Rice and Colorado).

1999 (Redshirt)
A walk-on athlete, Liley redshirted his first season.

Before Nebraska (Mullen HS)
Playing for head coach Mick McCall, Liley played with fellow Husker Jake Andersen at Mullen High in Lakewood, Colo. Liley was an all-league receiver averaging better than 19 yards per catch as a senior, his only year playing football. He scored five touchdowns and helped lead Mullen to a No. 1 (5A) ranking by USA Today in 1998. Liley helped Mullen's track team win four straight state championships, and won the state long jump title twice. He also lettered twice in golf and basketball.

Personal
The son of Jim and Barbara Liley, Tim was born on Feb. 14, 1981. Tim is also an excellent golfer and has been successful in long-drive competitions. In the summer of 2001, Liley won the Re/Max Long Drive Contest at Park Hill Golf Course with a 412-yard drive using a borrowed driver. Tim's older brother, Joe, competed for the Colorado golf team for four years. Tim's grandfather is Jim Burris, a former general manager of the Denver Bears and a long-time publicist.

Liley was a regular volunteer, devoting his time to the Halloween Fun Night, Beattie School Family Fun Night, and Special Olympics Bowling to name a few. He was a member of the 2002 Nebraska Football Unity Council and was elected to serve on the 2002-03 Student-Athlete Advisory Board. Liley was a standout in the classroom, earning second-team academic All-Big 12 honors in 2003. The six-time Big 12 Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll member earned his bachelor's degree in communication studies in December 2003.
