Lincoln -- The Nebraska football team went through a one-hour and 40-minute practice on Thursday afternoon, as the Huskers wrapped up their full-scale work for Saturday's game with Troy State. Nebraska will conduct a short walk-through on Friday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
Head Coach Frank Solich said the Huskers still have a "few guys banged up," but he is hopeful that they will return to health in time for Saturday's contest.
Solich also announced that senior linebacker Chad Buller will serve as Nebraska's special teams captain this week. In addition to his special teams contributions, Buller is also Nebraska's No. 2 Will linebacker behind Demorrio Williams.
"Chad is the personal protector on the punting team and plays on four of our special teams," Solich said. "He's a senior walk-on who has worked his way up in our program and earned a scholarship, and he's started to flourish in our defensive system."
