N-Sider: Huskers' 10 Most Memorable Moments in 2016

By NU Athletic Communications

By Randy York, The N-Sider

Since more than 600 Nebraska student-athletes returned to Lincoln Monday to begin their second-semester classes, it’s now or never for The N-Sider to reflect on a unique version of the Huskers’ 10 Most Memorable Moments in 2016.

Our goal was to prioritize each Husker-related experience through a single lens and define why each feat deserved its memorable moment status following Nebraska Athletics’ past 12 months.

The editorial context is anchored by two prominent facts that solidify the foundation of Nebraska Athletics: 1) the Huskers reached their best-ever Graduation Success Rate in 2016, posting an all student-athlete GSR of 88 percent; and 2) Seven Husker student-athletes became Academic All-Americans in 2016, increasing Nebraska’s nation-leading total to 327.

Husker fans continue to set attendance records. Nebraska Football had the 10th-best NCAA average with 90,200 fans per game and also reached its 350th consecutive home-sellout.

Volleyball is building its own record-breaking streak. The Huskers lead the nation with 8,210 fans per game and have sold out of 219 consecutive regular-season home games.

With that underpinning, here are The N-Sider’s 10 Most Memorable Moments in 2016:
