Lincoln -- Coming of his NFC Player of the Week honor against Chicago last Monday, Green Bay Packer running back Ahman Green recorded his second straight 100-yard game, lifting the Packers to a 35-13 win over the previously undefeated Seattle Seahawks.
Green, who now has 17 career 100-yard efforts, rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns against Seattle, the team that drafted the former NU I-back in the second round in 1998. Green rushed for a career-high 176 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries in the Packers' 38-23 win over Chicago, and leads the NFC with seven rushing TDs, and is second in the conference with 560 yards on the ground.
Green's big rushing day overshadowed another record-setting performance, as Seattle place-kicker Josh Brown connected on a 58-yard field goal to end the first half. The kick not only set the Seahawks' team record and was the longest field goal in the NFL this year, but was also the longest field goal ever at Lambeau Field. A seventh-round pick in 2003, Brown was 2-for-2 on field goals on the day and is 6-for-7 on field goals, while connecting on all 12 PATs. Brown's longest field goal at NU was a 51-yarder against Northwestern in the 2000 Alamo Bowl.
Currently, Nebraska leads all Big 12 schools with 32 former players on NFL rosters a total that ranks among the leaders for all schools.
