Lincoln -- With the NFL season closing in on the halfway point, several former Huskers are making impacts throughout the National Football League.
In St. Louis, Grant Wistrom had three tackles, while DeJuan Groce added a pair of stops, as the Rams improved to 4-2 on the year with a 34-24 victory over Green Bay. The Rams held another former Husker in check, as Ahman Green carried for just 35 yards on 20 carries, snapping his streak of three straight 100-yard games. Groce, who also serves as the Rams punt returner, took back three punts for 27 yards in the win, as St. Louis stayed one game behind division leader Seattle.
Nebraska's tradition of special teams excellence is continued in the NFL with three kickers (place-kickers Josh Brown and Kris Brown and punter Bill LeFleur) in the NFL. Josh Brown connected on three extra points and a 45-yard field goal in the Seahawks 24-21 victory over Chicago, while Kris Brown connected on both of his extra points in a 19-14 loss to the New York Jets. Bill LaFleur averaged 49.0 yards per punt on three kicks in the 49ers' 24-7 win over Tampa Bay.
Fans can see several former Huskers in tonight's matchup between the Oakland Raiders (Adam True, Eric Johnson and John Parella) and the Kansas City Chiefs (Will Shields and Eric Warfield), as Kansas City looks to remain one of two undefeated teams in the NFL
Currently, Nebraska leads all Big 12 schools with 32 former players on NFL rosters a total that ranks among the leaders for all schools.
